Vascular Surgery Department


What for

The Vascular Surgery Clinic aims to assess, monitor, and treat patients with vascular problems.

The purpose of the Department is to provide specialized care to patients with vascular diseases covering the entire spectrum of vascular medicine and surgery.

The treatment of vascular diseases in the Vascular Surgery Department is divided into:

  1. Prevention of vascular diseases

  2. Diagnosis of vascular diseases

  3. Conservative management of vascular diseases

  4. Phlebology clinic – venous diseases

  5. Creation of arteriovenous fistula for dialysis patients

  6. Diabetic foot

More specifically, the following examinations are performed:

Arteries:

  • Carotids: carotid triplex, CTA, MRA of the neck, CT of the brain.

  • Abdominal aorta: abdominal aorta triplex, CTA, MRA of the abdominal aorta.

  • Lower limb arteries: arterial triplex, CTA of the lower limbs.

  • Visceral artery aneurysms: CTA.

  • Lower limb ischemia, intermittent claudication, diabetic foot, lower limb ulcers.

  • Ultrasound, CTA examination.

Veins:

  • Spider veins: treatment of spider veins with sclerotherapy injections/laser (Nd).

  • Assessment of venous insufficiency, venous ulcers both clinically and using triplex.

  • Thrombophilia screening, in combination with venous triplex in pregnant women. Recommendation for treatment in case of coexisting venous insufficiency, always in collaboration with the gynecologist.

  • Management/follow-up of venous thrombosis both superficial and deep in a conservative manner (anticoagulant therapy, venous triplex)
